Wichai Kamnerdmongkol, fondly known as "Rong Kluay," the visionary founder of Coffee De Hmong.Deeply committed to developing his hometown alongside the locals, his mission focuses on sustainable tourism and meticulous agriculture.

Coffee De Hmong is more than just a brand; it operates as a vibrant community hub. To help villagers stay competitive, Rong Kluay established a "Shared Resources" system. Farmers have full access to communal spaces, roasters, pulpers, and sorting machines for only a minimal maintenance fee, empowering them to continuously improve their cultivation, processing, and roasting skills.

Volcanic Terroir & Organic Shade-Grown Beans

Coffee De Hmong boasts a diverse lineup of premium Arabica varietals, including Geisha, Catimor, Typica, and Java. Cultivated at breathtaking altitudes of 1,400–1,600 meters above sea level, the plants thrive in a cool, humid climate and potassium-rich volcanic soil—the perfect terroir for exceptional coffee.

Sustainability is at the core of their production. The coffee is grown organically using homemade compost. Because these beans require the shade of large trees, the community has actively turned to forest conservation. This harmonious coexistence with nature has effectively put an end to the region's history of shifting cultivation and deforestation.

"I returned home to build dreams with my fellow farmers. We had to figure out how coffee could generate enough income to balance their household expenses. If a family has 4 rai of land and needs 200,000 THB a year, how do we get there? We had to master processing and production, learn from the best, and build our own brand. Our goal is to be a central export hub, making coffee a sustainable, primary career for everyone in the community." — Rong Kluay

Empowering the Next Generation

Looking to the future, Rong Kluay is deeply invested in the youth of Manee Pruek village. Partnering with the local school, he transformed his café into a learning center. Here, students are taught how to brew coffee and serve tourists, providing them with practical, lifelong skills.

Beyond the café, he is mentoring a new generation of independent farmers capable of managing their own businesses from farm to cup. Rong Kluay firmly believes that empowering the youth to step up and build the reputation of Manee Pruek coffee is the strongest way to secure the community's legacy for generations to come.
