Caleb Jordan is the dedicated grower, processor, and master roaster behind Gem Forest Coffee. Affectionately known by local farmers as "Ajarn Caleb" (Teacher Caleb), this Thai-American pioneer has profoundly transformed the coffee landscape of Manee Pruek village in Nan province.
Drawing from independent research and his early experience roasting coffee for a church in the US, Caleb has dedicated years to mastering his craft and educating the local community. By establishing a fair-trade market, he ensures that farmers across Nan are never exploited. His work creates sustainable livelihoods, allowing locals to thrive and build stable futures right in their hometowns.
A Native Son’s Mission
Caleb’s roots in Nan run deep. Born in 1977 to missionary parents, he grew up immersed in the local culture and speaks fluent Thai; he is, at heart, a true native of Nan. After pursuing his studies in the United States, Caleb returned to Thailand. It was his father who sparked a life-changing idea: Why not use your coffee expertise to elevate the community's quality of life?
Caleb took this to heart. He meticulously researched and cross-referenced coffee varietals to find the perfect match for the local terroir. Instead of forcing cultivation, he introduced coffee to the farmers as a valuable alternative livelihood. This respectful, collaborative approach became the foundation of his upstream farming philosophy.
The ‘Syrina’ Masterpiece

Developed through decades of careful cross-breeding experiments, this unique varietal delivers a flavor profile that embodies the very meaning of its name: "Peace."
